Hello from CDMX! Adam and I have been walking a lot, riding Ecobici bike share, sitting and reading in parks, visiting museums, eating tacos, chamoyada, chai and pastry. It’s chilly in the mornings and evenings, and warm in the afternoons. Riding the Sunday ciclovia and other big bike infrastructure is delightful.
Our friend Rachel Hays of Taxonomy Press was also visiting, and last week we all got to hang out with Rodrigo and Lucía at S.A.R.A (Sociedad Anónima de Reproducción Autogestiva) in Tlalpan. Their space was incredible: they risograph print, screenprint, laminate, hot foil stamp, use a die-cut press for making envelopes, and space to paint, draw and have lots of other tools to make prints and publications.
Besides printing commercial work, Lucía and Rodrigo make their own work, and make a lot of riso projects in collaboration with artists — co-publishing artist books, zines, and making art prints.
➻ S.A.R.A. is on IG and has some videos and guides about the print process too!
