Hello ANEMONE pals!
We've got lots of late summer news! But first, please update your browser bookmarks:
New website for ANEMONE... http://anemone.studio
New website for Spectrolite... http://spectrolite.app
And a standalone Spectrolite insta (haven’t put up many posts yet, but plans for sharing tutorial images and videos in the future)… @spectrolite.app
We have a new studio space a short walk from where we live — the biggest exciting news. Now there’s more room for all the projects in the works: risograph printing, sewing pattern design, sewing clothes and gear, carving and marbling.
We’re working slowly, and trying to get in a lot of swimming in the lake, bike rambles, and mountain hikes before the fall really comes. We’re also starting to talk about the next new things for Spectrolite, and lots of other things as the weather starts to shift.
We also wanted to give you a heads up about two things coming up in September, and some new resources:
Olympia Zine Fest
We’ll be at Olympia Zine Fest with our friends Living Room Press on Saturday, Sept 11th from 11am-4pm. It’s at West Central Park, 1919 Harrison Ave NW. Outdoors, masks required for all, and free.
We’ll have a couple new zines (!), along with copies of Adam’s Bike Rambles around Seattle, and other zines and prints. Come say hi if you’re around!
Mundane Fantasy Comics issue 02!
ANEMONE is helping out with the printing for Mundane Fantasy, a new comix zine in Seattle. Excitingly, their first issue sold out (and paid artists!!) so they’re doing a second issue! You can get in on it!
Pre-order a copy ($12), get a zine + sticker & keychain ($24) or subscribe for the next year (two issues and extras - $60). Issue 02 will be out this fall, 32-pages risograph printed 5.5 x 8.5" zine! Preorder Mundane Fantasy 02!
Also, artists: you have until September 4th to submit!
Studio Resources
It’s a work in progress, but we’ve made some pages to share studio resources: where we source supplies and materials, our inventory of equipment, some software recommendations, and other stuff like zine making process, and slides from talks and workshops we’ve given.
Hope you are doing alright. Write back to us if you want!
